Grants & Financial Assistance
When CARB began to require people to modify or replace older equipment, they understood that there was a lot of cost to upgrade older engines and equipment. They developed a number of grant and loan programs that people could apply for. The following is a list of the common programs:
From the State of California;
- The Carl Moyer grant program offers money to help replace on-road, off-road and stationary and portable equipment. Grants typically cover 40% to 80% of the cost of a new machine. Visit CARB's website for more information.
- The Voucher Incentive Program, VIP, is part of the Carl Moyer funding but is grant money used for modifying or replacing trucks.
- The Goods Movement Program offers money primarily to modify or replace trucks. Visit CARB's website for more information.
There are some other programs such as the NRCS which comes from the Federal department of Agriculture. This funding is available to agricultural business to support projects that help clean up the environment. More information available here.
